Loving Life

I just got back from a fabulous week in Cancun, Mexico. Hanging out with other like-minded successful people is incredible empowering.

In Cancun, I met an extraordinary gentleman. His name is Shawn Achore. A Harvard Professor, Shawn studies the Psychology of Happiness. Now, I must admit. When I met Shawn, I expected him to be layered in tweed, smoking a pipe with his nose up. But, he was quite the opposite. Smiling, young, happy, magnetic and very, very cute!

Shawn's message was simply...happiness is a fundamental choice. It's an outlook on life that is critical to success.

This is something I've always known...a smile goes far in life. Smile and people smile back. Give and people give back. Help and people help back. It's the universal law of reciprocation...that which you put out comes back to you tenfold.

And now...they are studying it at Harvard.

It's wasn't surprising to find out that most of the professors at Harvard aren't necessarily open to studying happiness...or the effect of happiness. How do you actually quantify it?

In real world results. In income, in joy, in fulfillment. And, what they are finding is you have to choose happiness first. Things don't make a person happy, but being happy brings you things like money, great relationships, toys, etc. It's the Be,Do,Have principle that great men like Wallace D. Wattles, Napolean Hill, Steven Covey...all talk about.

So, I'm grateful that I'm naturally happy. Even when adversity strikes, I choose to find the light it in...the lesson, the value. That has brought me great success in my life and will continue to.

  1. Your happiness is a bright light on our planet. I appreciate your leadership in many venues.
I'm grateful to be a happy person, too. Just like in "Make Each Day Count," we are blessed when we choose to be happy.
