A Prosperous Life

When I worked a job, I was perpetually broke, tired and miserable. I'd often be complaining about how worn out I was, how I wasn't paid what I deserved and how much I hated my life. I worked from 6am to 6pm, 5 days a week and spent all my "free time" grading papers, doing lesson plans and being miserable.

When I think back to those times I wonder why I endured it so long. Did I just not know there was a better way? Was I not motivated? Did I actually like being miserable? I don't know but I'm sure glad I broke out of it!

Life now looks nothing like it used to. I live an abundant and prosperous life, free to do what I want when I want. And to think that my life now is simply the result of a simple choice I made! Wow!

So, I've been hanging out in Beaver Creek for the last few days. Talk about abundance. This is like little Aspen. There's such incredible wealth and prosperity here. It's been great - the lifts have been empty, the mountain empty and the conditions great. I'm so grateful that someone told me life could be better than it was when I was teaching Biology. I'm even more grateful that I believe him and took a leap of faith into the possibilities life had to offer. Because I did, this is the life I live...and it's available to anyone. It's simply a choice, a choice not to settle in life, a choice to live a life of abundance, prosperity and freedom!

TGIF

It's amazing how often I've heard "Thank God It's Friday" today. I even heard it yesterday - "Well, thank God tomorrow's Friday".

How said that the greatest thing people look forward to in their week is the final day of working. There's so much more to life than that.

I remember when I used to work a job, it's exactly how I was: complaining all week and looking forward to the weekend so I could at least do something that I wanted to do. Usually I didn't though because I was too tired and/or too broke.

So, what is Friday like for me know?

Well, yesterday John and I spontaneously decided we were going to go to Colorado to snowboard so we got on a plane and landed in Denver. We called a few of our friends who live in Castle Rock and went on over to their place after stopping at the Lamborghini dealership and the mall to do some shopping. They called a few more of our friends and within a few hours we had a party going. It was so much fun hanging out with our friends, celebrating life, prosperity and freedom.

We hung out all night in their million dollar home and spent the night. We woke up around 8:30am, took a shower, got dressed and mosied on down for breakfast. While most people were cursing the car in front of them during their commute, we were hanging out in our pj's drinking coffee and laughing at life. Our friends made us an awesome breakfast and we spent the next hour chatting and giggling, just having fun. We're both self-employed and living an amazing lifestyle so there was no rush, just time to be connected and enjoy ourselves.

We put together a toy I had brought for their son Wyatt - a Toy Story Bubble Maker, amused ourselves with bubbles and rumbled with laughter as their 5 month old lab Aunt B tackled the bubbles. I also made a reservation so we'd have a place to stay - where to go???? Breck, Vail, Copper, Beaver Creek - so many possibilities. We finally settled on Beaver Creek, we've never been so wanted to add a little adventure to our day.

We then loaded up in their Escalade to visit with Buffalo and watch the prairie dogs play on a local preserve. I love prairie dogs - their one of my favorite animals so to sit and watch them play for awhile on a Friday morning was a wonderful treat.

Around noon we said our good-byes and John and I headed West towards the mountains. We enjoyed an incredible ride, it was bright and sunny today - a beautiful day and I was feeling so grateful we were enjoying it together. After all, if we had settled in our lives, if we had never taken the risks, moved forward - if we had played it safe, we'd both be miserable at separate jobs saying "TGIF".

I was saying TGIF today- Thank God It's Friday, it's beautiful and I'm doing everything I WANT TO DO. I'm on an adventure, living free and prosperously, experiencing my wonderful spouse - watching him smile and laugh; relaxed and confident living in the moment. It's awesome.

So, we decided to go off the main road and divert over to Breckenridge to visit of our favorite places. On the way I made a phone call and helped an excited gentleman get started in my business - $1000.00 in my pocket for 3 minutes of work. Not bad. This is what life is all about - having abundance, experiencing abundance and helping others do the same. I don't have to sit in a cubicle or at a desk, I can be whereever I want and live every moment to the fullest. There's no either/or in my life.

We explored Breck, rode passed a house we are considering buying and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon. We wandered into a snowboard shop and wouldn't you know it, they had the exact board John's been looking at for awhile - in his size. So we got it - Burton Vapor with C-60 bindings. AWESOME RIDE! We stopped in Frisco, bought some more gear and travelled onward to Beaver Creek.

All I can say is it's spectacular here - so abundant and prosperous. The resort we're at - The Pines Lodge is awesome - like a quaint Swiss Chalet, cozy and wonderful! We enjoyed a fantastic dinner in the restuarant and just came back to our room.

So, in closing TGIF. TGIMonday and Tuesday and Wednesday, etc. etc. Everyday is a precious gift; time is so fleeting. So, When it comes to Friday, remember: Friday can either be the day you look forward to because you're eager to break away from the stiffling bondage you feel working a job that is disatisfying and supressing, or it can be a day filled with spontaneous adventure, fun and freedom - a day spent doing what you want to do with who you want to be with. It's simply a choice.

We're hitting the slopes tomorrow for a few days on the mountain. When are we returning? We haven't decided yet....now that's freedom!

Attracting What You Want in Life

Check out Michael Losier.

I've spent time with Michael and his ability to assist people in understanding how to use the Law of Attraction is awesome.

7 Habits of HIghly Effective People

You know, it's amazing how at different times in our lives, things can have profoundly different effects.

A few years ago, I read Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People. At the time, I thought it was great, got alot out of it, put it on the shelf and basically forgot all about it. I'm sure there was something of value I took from it but had you asked me to name it, I wouldn't have been able too.

A couple of months ago, as I was wondering through Barnes and Noble ready to make yet another massive contribution to their bottom line, I saw the audio course, unabridged, of the 7 Habits. I decided to pick it up and I actually took the time to plug into it. I listened to this course during long drives, at home and all over the place. I found the information so insightful, so incredible that listening to the course almost became an addiction. Not only did I find the information inspiring, but I began to actually apply the understanding to my daily way of being and the effect has been profound. A few of my friends have noticed a new calmness, a new sense of purpose and peace that has been a result of really grasping the concepts Stephen has shared throughout the book.

For whatever reason, my experience with this course this time around has been phenomenal. I really understand the concept of focusing on the circle of influence rather than the circle of concern. It's helped me to release stress and I find myself no longer being overwhelmed by the "big of little things". More than that, I gained so many new perspectives of the "why" behind people's actions...or rather, a release of my judgement of the "why". I learned to honor people's paths, to allow them their experience of life while simply being a participant in their growth. The effect this book has had on my personally, my business and my results has been exceptional.

It was great exploring the book in the book club as well. Listening to other people's perspectives and applications of the information is an exceptional way to learn and to grow.

So, I definetely recommend to pick up the book or the audio course. This new experience of the material inspired me so much I bought a few copies and sent them to a few of my closests friends, so they could have an incredible experience as well.
