Taking Time for Me

In our society today, it is so easy to be consumed with the urgency of things. We are inundated with urgent matters - emails, phone calls, people, TV, media, etc. We live in an information society filled with distractions. We get consumed in our business, consumed by the "big of little things" and before we know it another day is gone. Recently I found myself in this position. I was very "busy" but at the end of the day, I found myself overwhelmed by what I hadn't accomplished. In looking at my day, I realized that somehow I had gotten off the path of prioritization. I was allowing little things to consume my time and had forgotten to take time for me. I was consumed by emails (emails that didn't even matter) and lots of other things that I was giving my attention but that were not moving me forward to my goals. All it was doing was leaving me overworked, overwhelmed and exhausted. Not to mention a little bit moody:)

Fortunately, once I recognized it, it was easy to "fix". In my life, the times when I am the most successful, relaxed and having fun in my life are the times when I take the most time for me. I think we get the idea in our head that if we work more and work harder, we'll get better results. We put technical things in front of the things that really matter such as personal development, meditation and visualization. We are consumed with activity and eventually after "forcing" and "pushing" are disappointed that all of our efforts haven't produce the results that we wanted. Why is that? It's because we are in a place of force instead of a place of power (Dr. Hawkins's book, Power vs. Force is a great guide to this).

We think that if we just put more in, do more activity and get consumed with busy-ness, we're going to "make it happen!". I've actually found the opposite to be true. The more time I spend on me, whether it's doing my personal development, getting a message, going for a hike, or doing some travelling, the more successful my business is and the more I'm enjoying my life. I'm in a place of Power rather than Force. I'm spending time focusing on my goals with an inherent knowing of their manifestation. When this is, I don't feel the "need" to push or force it. I'm just relaxed, confident and having fun. Not just that, but I find myself being giddy because I'm having so much fun, loving my business and loving my life. The energy of success and happiness is magnetically attractive to so many people and business explodes. I also find that I have an abundance of time during my day. It gives me tons of time to do my animal rescue work and operate my business as well as pursue other interests I have like real estate.

A few weeks ago, John and I made a decision to take an hour a day to do personal development together every day. I have to admit, I was being a slacker. I was frustrated with so many things because I wasn't putting time into me. I wasn't spending time meditating or journaling. It's funny, as much as I often think I've "arrived", I can still fall of the path so easily. I'll blame the holidays!

We're currently doing Bob Proctor's Born Rich Program everyday for an hour together. Simply taking this hour a day, in the middle of my day, has had an incredible impact. First of all - Bob Proctor is truly a master. He's one of the most powerful self-development coaches in the world. He's also responsible for creating the movie the secret (www.thesecret.tv). He's a stand for transformation in this world and I'm glad to align myself with him and his teachings. Spending an hour a day with Bob has gotten me to take a look at myself, to who I am, to who I am becoming and where I am going. I've set some incredible goals for this month and this year and I feel empowered to achieve them. I also feel relaxed and am having fun!

The key to success is simply focusing on you. The more relaxed, confident and empowered you feel, the quicker the manifestation of your goals. Spending relaxed time each day, allows me to realize my personal power and to move confidently throughout my day and week to manifest greatness. There's no stress or forcing, no breakdowns, just the confident beingness that attracts all I desire.

I invite you to take time to focus on you. You are the creative realization of your pure potential. I'd love to hear what you have created from taking this time each day, so be sure to share!
